Harken Industrial developed the Long-Span Access Rail (R27LS) as an alternative to its flagship R27 Classic Access Rail system. The R27LS system offers the same strong, free-rolling ball bearing trolleys as the classic, but has a more robust rail profile, allowing it to handle longer spans without compromising strength. Support brackets are offered in a variety of styles for ease of installation, and for mounting on surfaces of different types and configurations. Like the Classic Access Rail system, the R27LS can be used for fall protection and for rope access. Clear-anodized is the standard color. Other colors are available via special order. The longer span between attachment points reduces installation costs: 3 m (9.84′) span for fall protection; up to 1.5 m (4.90′) for rope access.

The Long-Span Access Rail system has been independently tested. The rails are EN795.2012 Type D compliant, meet ANSI Z359, and are OSHA compliant. The trolleys are CE certified under EN795.2012 Type B, meet ANSI Z359, and are OSHA compliant. For CE certification this must be used in conjunction with the full CE certified R27LS Access Rail System.
